Subject-Verb Agreement Chant

Source: https://busyteacher.org/

Grade Level: K-2

English Proficiency Level: Beginning

Concepts that could be taught through this selection: ELAR esson on simple present tense, on affirmative and negative forms, or on subject-verb agreement

This chant would be helpful for practicing pronunciation, subject-verb agreement, verb forms, and more. If used frequently, it could also be easily expanded to become more complete, such as changing the person or object that is being seen to include more vocabulary words. This can also be a way to allow students to lead the chant by giving it a similar format to the game "I Spy" to make it more interactive. The subjects could also be varied to practice subject-verb agreement, and the verb tense can be changed to practice other tenses.
